Flower Power

Review of Thais Flowers hair pin | Curl on a Mission curly hair blog

I recently re-connected with a friend from high school, and we just happen to share the same first name. Thais Mills is a poet, literacy advocate, voice actor, and designer of a gorgeous line of hair pins called Thais Flowers.

When she learned I’d started a hair blog, it seemed so natural that I (Thaïs) should do a review of Thais Flowers! She sent me a beautiful red velvet orchid with abstract splashes of gold and glitter. It was creatively packaged and faintly perfumed; I felt like I was opening a Christmas gift!

There’s something about wearing a hair pin that makes me feel decidedly feminine. Somehow, it immediately made me sassier and classier, all at once. This hair pin is sturdily constructed and the clasp is firm, so I was able to place it anywhere in my thick hair.  It can be versatilely styled, and would look just as good with a sweater and jeans as a little black dress. (Actually, I can’t wait to wear it with a LBD and a bold red lip – sexy!)

For someone like me who gets bored quickly with her hair, Thais Flowers are a nice way to add a new twist and create a different look. These hand-crafted flowers are made to order, and range from $25-$45. Thais also offers floral crowns, and just recently, baby floral head wraps!
